He has written about the link between health and gardening in Gardeners’ World magazine. Adam will have his new book, For the Love of Plants: Over 150 Plants to Bring Joy to Your Garden and Your Life to sign at the show.

Nick Hamilton
Nick Hamilton is an author of two organic gardening books as well as writing for magazines and other publications. He has appeared on BBC2’s Gardeners’ World and several other television programmes. The son of gardening legend Geoff Hamilton, Nick is a well-known horticultural expert in his own right. He trained at Writtle College before gaining experience at several wholesale nurseries prior to going into business with his dad at Barnsdale. They worked together for several years before Geoff’s untimely death. Subsequently Nick took on Barnsdale Gardens and, from 1997, opened them to the public. They continue to inspire, educate and enthral the many gardeners and non-gardeners who visit each year.

Jody Knapp
BSc (Hons) MNIMH
Jody is a qualified Medical Herbalist with a First Class Bachelor of Science degree in Herbal Medicine and a registered member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. Jody will be bringing her scientific knowledge of the medicinal properties of plants both growing here in the UK and further afield and their potential use in preventative medicine whilst entwining the historical uses of herbal medicine – quoting some of the great physicians of the past. Jody will also discuss what can be foraged locally in our hedgerows and how to prepare these pickings into teas, tinctures, and recipes at home. Growing tips will be given on how to grow plants in your own green spaces that may provide health benefits to you. Plants have a long and fascinating history of being used as medicine and Jody will interactively share stories of this with cuttings available to feel, smell, and even taste.
